Dilation and curettage (abortion) is a surgical procedure performed to terminate unwanted pregnancies or to clean the uterine lining after a miscarriage. It is safely and quickly carried out using the vacuum aspiration method. A return to normal life is possible shortly after the procedure.
Minor Gynecological Procedures
Fast, Effective, and Comfortable Procedures
Minor gynecological procedures in women's health provide great convenience in diagnosis and treatment processes. These procedures are usually performed outpatient and in a short time, mostly under local anesthesia. Here are the most commonly performed minor gynecological procedures and their details:
Abortion (Pregnancy Termination Procedure)

Hymenoplasty (Hymen Reconstruction Surgery)

Hymenoplasty is the repair or reconstruction of the hymen. Preferred for cultural or personal reasons, this procedure is performed quickly and results in a natural appearance. It can be done using temporary or permanent methods.
Insertion of Hormonal and Copper IUD
Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are long-term birth control methods. There are two main types:

- Copper IUD: Prevents fertilization by inhibiting sperm movement.
- Hormonal IUD (e.g., Mirena): Provides contraception and reduces menstrual bleeding.
IUD insertion can be easily performed in outpatient clinic settings.
Implanon (Subcutaneous Implant Insertion)

Implanon is a small, hormone-release rod placed under the skin on the inner side of the upper arm. It provides effective birth control for up to 3 years. The procedure takes only a few minutes and does not affect daily life.
Gynefix and Ballerina IUD Insertion
Gynefix and Ballerina — the new generation of intrauterine devices (IUDs)

- Due to their small size, they cause less discomfort.
- They have a lesser impact on the menstrual cycle.
- With their uterine-compatible designs, they provide reliable contraception.
- The insertion procedure is quick and generally pain-free.
Bartholin

Abscess formations in Bartholin's glands manifest with pain and swelling. Drainage allows the abscess to empty, providing quick relief. Antibiotic treatment may be added if necessary.
Marsupialization of Bartholin
This procedure is performed for recurrent Bartholin

- The cyst is drained.
- The wall of the cyst is sutured to the outside to prevent fluid from reaccumulating.
- This procedure, performed under local anesthesia, provides a permanent solution.
Hysterosonography (Saline Infusion Sonography)
It is a special ultrasound method used to evaluate intrauterine pathologies. By infusing saline into the uterus:

- Polyps, fibroids, and adhesions can be visualized more clearly,
- The procedure is painless and completed quickly.
- It is highly valuable for diagnostic purposes.
Condyloma Cautery (Wart Removal)
Genital warts caused by the HPV virus can be treated by burning them with electrocautery. This method:

- Provides effective and permanent results,
- Performed painlessly with local anesthesia,
- Prevents the spread of warts.
Cervical Erosion Cauterization (Cauterizing Cervical Ulcer)
Superficial cell loss (erosion) on the cervical surface can be treated with cauterization. Thanks to this procedure:

- Symptoms like bleeding and discharge are resolved,
- Cervical tissue regenerates.
- Recovery after the procedure is quick.
